Ethical Hacking and Blue Team Research
I have spent eighteen years in managed services, specializing in malware remediation at both the desktop and server levels. Throughout my career, I have encountered and mitigated network-wide security threats, including major Emotet and TrickBot infections in corporate and municipal environments. Working collaboratively with teams, I have helped secure networks after remediation efforts, ensuring long-term protection.
One of the most critical incidents I addressed involved identifying and preventing the spread of a supply chain ransomware attack. By closely examining the threat and collaborating with decryption specialists, I provided malware infection samples that enabled them to develop a real-time ransomware decryption key. This effort successfully prevented data loss across multiple infected networks. This pivotal experience deepened my commitment to Blue Team research, enhancing my understanding of offensive security practices and leading me to actively test antivirus solutions to evaluate their effectiveness against modern threats.
A Passion for Cybersecurity and IT Protection
My dedication to IT extends beyond just a profession—computers have been a fundamental part of my life for forty years. I view them not only as tools for work but as crucial instruments for preserving historical information, empowering individuals with disabilities, fostering communication, and providing entertainment that connects people worldwide.
The escalation of cyber threats since 2015 has reinforced my determination to focus on cybersecurity. These attacks pose a severe risk to small and medium-sized businesses, sometimes leading to permanent closures. My ongoing studies in ethical hacking are driven by a desire to apply offensive security knowledge to help businesses fortify their defenses in today’s increasingly hostile IT landscape. By staying ahead of emerging threats, I aim to contribute to a safer, more resilient digital environment for all.
