Personal Background

Christopher Rezza: IT Professional & Lifelong Learner

My name is Christopher Rezza, and I live in Somersworth, New Hampshire. I have been passionate about computers since childhood and have worked professionally in Information Technology since 2007.

Beyond technology, I enjoy sports, particularly hockey, having grown up skating and embracing New England winters. I am a proficient writer in English, have a conversational level of French, and have a deep appreciation for languages—I am currently (and painstakingly) learning Scots Gaelic. Additionally, I enjoy gardening, chess, and spending time with animals. Before transitioning into IT, I worked extensively with injured dogs and horses. I have been happily married for over 23 years to a fellow animal lover.

A Lifelong Passion for Technology

Computers have fascinated me since childhood. My first computer was a Timex/Sinclair 1000, and from that moment, I was hooked. Over the years, I evolved from an enthusiastic hobbyist into a skilled technician. I have always had an affinity for strategy, whether in gaming, troubleshooting complex IT issues, or developing security defenses. Currently, I am furthering my cybersecurity expertise by studying the Offensive Security PEN-200 penetration testing course, aiming to enhance my ability to protect small and medium-sized businesses against cyber threats.

Work History & Technical Expertise

As an experienced computer technician with a demonstrated history of dedication and success, I possess extensive expertise in Windows systems administration. My skills include:

  • Windows Server administration and troubleshooting
  • Office 365 and Microsoft 365 security solutions (Defender, Intune, Sentinel)
  • Hybrid and cloud-based Azure (Entra) Active Directory environments
  • SharePoint site creation and permissions management
  • Identity management with Okta and Entra ID
  • Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) solutions and malware remediation

Early Career & IT Evolution

My technical services career began as a cable lineman, where I participated in the ‘drop/swap’ project in Maine to enhance the region’s cable infrastructure. During this time, I gained foundational knowledge in coaxial cable wiring and pole work across New Hampshire and southern Maine.

Upon transitioning into IT, I specialized in desktop and server repair, earning an A+ equivalent certification through HP (HP APS) and developing expertise in hardware repairs. I have a strong aptitude for operating system troubleshooting and earned my Microsoft MCP in Windows Server 2012. Additionally, I was mentored by a highly skilled network engineer, which deepened my understanding of data wiring and physical infrastructure. Over the years, I have wired numerous offices and installed rack-mounted network equipment, ensuring stability and optimal performance at the physical layer.

In 2019, I achieved the Microsoft MCSE certification in Core Infrastructure, solidifying my proficiency in Windows platforms. I am currently pursuing the Offensive Security PEN-200 course, which I aim to complete by May 15, 2025, to enhance my security expertise and better assist businesses in strengthening their defenses. Additionally, I hold an Azure Sentinel Security Associate credential and ensure my skills remain up-to-date through annual renewals. I previously obtained CGIS 4 certification for government-related technical work, which I can renew if required.

Security & Network Infrastructure

Having spent years in managed services, I have significant experience in:

  • Network assessment, firewall, router, and switch installations
  • LAN/WAN technologies and network troubleshooting
  • Corporate Endpoint Detection & Response (EDR) solutions
  • Malware remediation and incident response
  • DNS management, website hosting, and domain security

As a seasoned generalist, I have installed, configured, and monitored a broad range of client/server software solutions. Additionally, I have experience in website design, hosting, and DNS records management. Throughout my career, I have successfully responded to numerous emergency outages and system failures, ensuring business continuity.

Future Goals

I am looking to pivot my career toward a security-focused role where I can apply my extensive IT expertise to bolster a company’s security posture. My passion for cybersecurity, combined with my hands-on experience in malware remediation, penetration testing, and security infrastructure, makes me eager to contribute to a team dedicated to proactive defense and risk mitigation.

Technology has been a lifelong passion, and I remain committed to continuous learning, adapting, and applying my skills to make IT environments more secure and resilient.
